Now, I´m really disapointed with the episode but more with the fact that Cth is dating Vartan . When this happenned?, and Catherine says in a momenta that he prefers a man she can count on, well Cathereine wake up!! the only man who has been with you since the beggining in the bad and good has been BRASS. The writers definetily are lost.

I didn't get to see all of the episode but what I did see really sort of killed it for me. I can't really make any arguments against Catherine and Vartann. I guess it works for the writers because it's a mostly unseen character so the romance is offscreen but yeah, that kind of made me hate the CSI writers more than I already do. And that's hard to do. It didn't help that Brass didn't have much to do in this episode, which of course is why I don't like Vartann.

Also, notice how they are completely downplaying the whole Brass/Catherine friendship they had going on last season? They did the same thing back in S5. Prior to S5, there was a definite Brass/Catherine vibe but all of a sudden, it's Catherine/Warrick. Now we have this.

Call me naive, but I'm clinging to the hope that she never actually confirmed she was dating Vartann -- she did a rather nice misdirect/brush off when Sara asked her about it, and Sara said, "Oh, okay, early days, you don't want to talk about it." Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Maybe they were putting out a feeler to see how we would react. So let's let them hear it!

Maybe Catherine is dating a detective but to put Sara off the scent of which detective, she didn't confirm or deny it was Vartann. If it were Brass, Sara would be all over that. Yup, that's my theory.

Personally, though, given Vartann's general asshatness (his comments about overweight women immediately come to mind), I have a hard time seeing Catherine hook up with him for the long term. But as we know all too well, these writers have a short memory.

So I finally watched this and while I choose to believe what Sorsha711 writes in her fic, Trained Observer regarding Catherine and Vartann, at least Brass had more of a role in this than he's had in the last two episodes.

I didn't like that they dyed his hair again (I'm really starting to hate the buzz cut) but I did like the scene of him pulling up in front of the kid's house and then going up to the front door. PG wears his trousers very well. Just sayin'...
